Centering

The Check-It-Gauge can be used to compare the distance from each edge of the insert to the electrode, thereby verifying the center. This method works well for other machine setups as well.

Alignment & Setups

With the indicator zeroed out, the relationship of two plates for parallelism and step can be checked.
Checking Alignment
To quickly align a plate on a machine, the distance from each end of the plate to the table is compared, rather than moving the table back and forth. To complete the final inspection move the table in the normal fashion.
Plate Setup
Using the same principle as above, with a plate larger than the table, it is easier to take comparative measurements by checking the reverse distance from the plate to the table. Also, notice the indicator face is rotated so as to improve the ease of viewing.
