To quickly align a plate on a machine, the distance from each end of the plate to the table is compared, rather than moving the table back and forth. To complete the final inspection move the table in the normal fashion. |

Using the same principle as above, with a plate larger than the table, it is easier to take comparative measurements by checking the reverse distance from the plate to the table. Also, notice the indicator face is rotated so as to improve the ease of viewing. |
